The Engineering Service requires or is based on the “application of engineering principals and data”. Engineering principles are the principles of Engineering and Engineering Data is data used in the application of those principles. Engineering is a science of design, construction, maintenance and operation of man-made structures, machines, systems and processes according to scientific and mathematical principals. Therefore – an engineering service is a service which is based on or requires the application of scientific and mathematical principles and data to the design, construction and operation of man-made structures, machines, systems and processes.

ENGINEERING DESIGN
Straight Cut Solutions offer complete in-house mechanical design solutions for all major industries. Straight Cut Solutions can take your basic concept, sketch or idea and turn it into a fully commissioned product. We can produce complete workshop manufacturing drawings using our 3D and 2D CAD modelling software and combine it with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to offer a complete in-house solution that optimises your design, ready for certification and commissioning.

RPEQ CERTIFICATION
All Engineering Services carried out by Straight Cut Solutions are by an RPEQ Engineer. RPEQ certification can be provided for existing or new designs of plant, equipment, machines, systems or products for compliance in accordance with relevant Australian Standards. RPEQ Certification is required for all Engineering Services carried out in Queensland or specifically for Queensland. Within Queensland and as set out by the Professional Engineers Act 2002; The Act provides that a person who is not an RPEQ must not carry out professional engineering services. The Act provides that a person carries out professional engineering services under the direct supervision of an RPEQ only if the RPEQ directs the person in the carrying out of the services and oversees and evaluates the carrying out of the services by the person. The Code of Practice for Registered Professional Engineers states that if an RPEQ supervises a person in carrying out professional engineering services within the meaning of section 115 of the Act, the RPEQ must, in the role of the supervisor: (a) have sufficient knowledge of the professional engineering services carried out; (b) sufficient control over any outputs of the professional engineering services to reasonably form the view that the standard of the professional engineering services is that to be expected of an RPEQ; and (c) take full professional responsibility for the professional engineering services provided by that person.
